SEO and Internet Marketing has been around for quite some time.

The best value offering the most targeted potential clients for virtually any local business will come from a highly optimized “Google Places” page. As you can see from the videos above. Go to www.Google.com and type into your browser your business followed by or proceeded by your city. Now as you see the large “Google Maps” area usually on the top right. Look at all of the red dots all over the map. These dots are businesses that Google considers the same or closely related to yours.

Now look to the left hand column. There will be at most 7 local businesses listed there. Sometimes there may be 3 positions, depending on the number of competing sites. These 7 positions are considered the Sweet 7. All of the red dots on the map would love to be in one of those 7 positions. The reality is that one or more of these 7 spots will get a call from the person that is searching for a business like yours. Imagine the sales opportunities for these companies. Do you want to give your business the same chance of making another sale as the other top 7 ? Studies have shown that the # 1 position receives the majority of the clicks from customers. Obviously that should be your ultimate goal.

Of course we all want to earn more business. Having a website means very little if it’s not ranking very highly for targeted keyword searches online.

The reason you are not ranked higher than the next guy is because Google does not think you are worthy and important enough to be ranked higher than you are. This is crippling to your business gaining new customers.
